Dr. Derek Shepherd: I know how you feel.
Dr. Meredith Grey: Do you? Somehow I doubt that. Because if you did, you would shut up, and turn around and go back inside. Because you would realize that I am this close to getting in my car and running you down in the parking lot!

Disappearances happen. Pains go phantom. Blood stops running and people, people fade away. There’s more I have to say, so much more, but… I disappeared.

I wanna marry you. I wanna have kids with you. I wanna build us a house. I wanna settle down, and grow old with you. I wanna die, when I’m a hundred and ten years old, in your arms. I don’t want forty eight uninterrupted hours, I want a lifetime.

Peace isn’t a permanent state. It exists in moments. Fleeting. Gone before we knew it was there. We can experience it at any time, in a stranger’s act of kindness, a task that requires complete focus or simply the comfort of an old routine. Everyday we all experience these moments of peace. The trick is to know when they’re happening so that we can embrace them, live in them. And finally let them go.
